Cycling Jerseys

Save a Cyclist jerseys

We have teamed up with Milltag to bring you some high quality, high impact, well designed cycling jerseys so that you can help to promote road safety on your bike. The slogan has been adapted slightly so as not to be antagonistic to drivers but to encourage them to give you space as they pass. Although wearing the jersey won’t make much difference to the attitudes of the most ignorant of drivers, it will help to re-establish a good relationship between cyclists and other drivers whilst casually reminding those that may get too close that you need room. I genuinely believe that the majority of incidents happen because drivers don’t realise that we need space on our bikes, or think that we don’t mind them getting close as long as they don’t hit us! The cycling jersey perfectly emulates what the campaign stands for; mutual respect on our roads.

Pre-order today!

The design is available in yellow, pink and red and we are now taking pre-orders so that we can get an idea of how many people want to buy them. The pre-order period will run until Friday 4th November, after that it will be around 4-5 weeks for the jerseys to be manufactured and sent out. If you pre-order today, you can guarantee that you will be one of the first to wear one of these fantastic jerseys and do your part towards saving a cyclist (you might even be saving yourself!).

Each jersey has a grip around the bottom, a zip pocket on the back and a full length zip down the front.

A little bit about Milltag

Started in 2010, by passionate cyclists and graphic designers Ed Cowburn and Pete Kelsey, Milltag’s goal is to produce bespoke, limited edition, high quality cycling jerseys often designed in collaboration with leading artists and designers from around the world. Like art, their jerseys are produced in very limited runs – that means that you are purchasing a garment that is practically unique, lovingly created and guaranteed to be the envy of the rest of those on two wheels. To wear a Milltag jersey is to express your individuality as a rider and assures that you will “stand out from the peloton”.

In 2011, their jerseys continue to provide an exciting alternative to the majority of today’s jerseys that are either plastered with sponsors’ logos or so banal that the designs become indistinct from other generic sportswear.

Plus, in addition to the jerseys, they now offer a full range of creative services specific to the bicycle industry through their design studio. From print to online environments, they have previously worked for some of the world’s leading companies across a diverse range of industries and are now focused on working with like-minded cycling brands to realise their full potential and make sure they too “stand out from the peloton”. Whether it’s creating a concept from scratch or developing an existing identity they bring passion, enthusiasm and experience to every project.

Contributing to a good cause

As a campaign we already support the Dave Rayner fund and the Braveheart fund through our T-shirt and car sticker sales. We feel that contributions from the cycling jerseys should go to a cause that will benefit all cyclists that may have to deal with any legal issues surrounding road safety. We have therefore decided to support the  Cyclists Defence Fund who are on the front line helping to fight for cyclist’s rights. A donation of £5 per jersey will be donated to the fund.

How do I order?

Jerseys are £60.00 (including the contribution to charity) plus £5.oo p&p. International delivery can be arranged but please email me first using the email address found in the Contact Us section to arrange this.

Once you have clicked the button and logged in to PayPal, in “Add special comments to merchant” please add your colour and size!

They’re just like normal club jerseys! A sizing chart will be added soon if that helps 🙂

  • shmokums  On July 18, 2011 at 8:41 pm

    Does that come in blue?

    • saveacyclist  On July 19, 2011 at 7:41 am

      not yet unfortunately!

      • Olav Torvund  On August 5, 2011 at 7:37 am

You answer “Not yet”, does that mean that there will be a blue jersey? (Which is the colour I would like)

      • saveacyclist  On August 16, 2011 at 8:03 pm

there are no plans for blue ones at the moment I am afraid 🙂

Will you ship the jersey to Denmark, and if so, what is the price?

  • Lee Kennedy  On July 19, 2011 at 10:55 am

That’s a cracking design, really eye catching and loving the non-antagonistic stance. The word deffo needs to be spread in a mutually respectful way(I recently gave a huge wide berth for a 4×4 to pass me on country lane and the driver STILL tried to start a fight with me as he thought I’d “said somethin”!!) I’ll have my name down on payday 🙂

  • novacommentarii  On July 19, 2011 at 4:01 pm

How about shipping to the USA?

  • Claire Wales  On July 19, 2011 at 7:39 pm

I am not and certainly not looking to take away from a great idea but your red cross symbol may be in conflict with the protected red cross symbol of the British and international red cross, I know of others that have had to change do it may be worth checking.
